Ultra High Lift Control Surface
The KIN UltraFlap is designed to transform aileron control and wing lift. Whether you're a fan of bush planes, STOL flying, slow-speed training, or even aerobatics, this innovative control surface is for you. By working with your existing ailerons, it significantly increases lift and enhances control at low and high speeds, making takeoffs and landings shorter and smoother than you thought possible.
Engineered for Easy Building & Lasting Durability
Our kit is engineered for a straightforward assembly experience, making it perfect for modelers of all skill levels. We've simplified construction by using a few key, cutting edge materials.
The airfoil sections are made from foamed PLA, a top quality, high temperature sun safe material that is incredibly tough and lightweight. This new material enables a super strong and resilient structure without the complexities of traditional building methods that are also found on the UltraFlap Ultra Light version.
For parts that require the up most strength, such as the winglets, pivot arms, and control horns, we've utilized another new and cutting edge material, PCTG (not PETG). This material is extremely durable and impact resistant to help resist breaks even when contacting the ground directly.

Our design choices make the building process as smooth as possible:
Consisting of PCTG plastic ribs, carbon fiber rods, and lightweight high temperature foaming PLA, the KIN UltraFlap achieves an ultra-light and remarkably stiff construction. While perfectly sized for the AeroScout, its versatile control surface pivot arm allows for broad compatibility with most high-wing and mid-wing RC aircraft (if you dare), whether they're foam or balsa builds.
- NACA 2412 Airfoil: Balanced lift characteristics ensuring laminar flow at high and low speeds
- Airfoil Winglet/Fence Fins: Beyond their lift-enhancing properties, these fins also protect your vinyl airfoil covering from ground impact damage.
- Spare Parts: We include extra common components, just in case something gets misplaced during assembly or needs replacing after an accidental impact.

Control System Compatibility
- Stock AeroScout Spektrum receiver: If your setup uses the stock receiver, the flaps will function primarily as ailerons in a single channel. However, you can pre-set a flap deflection (e.g., 10-15°) before flight to gain additional lift. Or just enjoy the increased aileron control at 0°.
- Full Flaperon Control: For dynamic flaperon mixing and complete control, we recommend upgrading to an unlocked Spektrum receiver such as the AR631 or the AR637T. This allows the airplane to be set up as 2-channel ailerons with Flaperons functionality.

⚠️ Important Considerations & Tradeoffs
Every performance upgrade involves tradeoffs, and we want to ensure you know what to expect:
- Increased Drag: While the KIN UltraFlap dramatically increases lift, it will also introduce more drag, particularly at high deflection angles. This reduces glide efficiency and may require more power during landing approaches.
- Control Mixing Complexity: Configuring for full flaperon functionality requires two channels for ailerons, flaps set up in transmitter, and servo rates and expos adjusted.
- Increased Servo Load: At high deflection angles and high speeds, the flap surfaces exert increased torque on servos. The stock AeroScout wing servos, Spektrum A390, survived all tests, however servo stall was experienced during high speed flap deployment or high speed Acro. Upgrading to Emax ES09D servos is a suggested upgrade.
- New Stall Behavior: Be aware that stall characteristics will change with increasing flap deflection angles. Avoid slow banking turns in these configurations. We strongly recommend practicing high-altitude maneuvers to safely familiarize yourself with your aircraft's new behavior.
