AeroScout 50mm EDF Jet Trainer Conversion Kit

Ready to make the jump from propellers to jets with minimal risk? The KIN Additive 50mm EDF Mounting Kit is your perfect, low-cost entry into the world of electric ducted fan (EDF) flight.

Designed to be an easy flying EDF, this simple upgrade lets you experience the exhilarating feel of a jet and, best of all, the incredible sounds that come with it. Use your existing AeroScout RC plane to master the basics of jet flying before you commit to an expensive, detailed, to-scale model. It's the most affordable and effective way to learn.

Compatible with both stock landing gear and the KIN tail dragger landing gear.

Battery Suggestions:

This kit is 3S and 4S compatible, but we highly suggest using a 2200mah 4S Battery to get the full power range of the 50mm EDF. Estimated flight time is 3-5 minutes.

Landing Gear & Center of Gravity (CG)

Depending on your battery and landing gear setup, you may need to add the included steel weights to balance the CG. When using the recommended 2200mAH 4S 30C battery Amazon Link, (the 50C pack is a very tight fit, but works), CG balancing requires the following:

• Factory/stock landing gear requires extra nose weight.
• KIN landing gear requires little to no extra weight.
• No landing gear/belly lander requires extra nose weight.

50mm EDF Mounting Kit Includes:

• Inlet Duct
• 50mm EDF Motor Mount
• Thrust Nozzle (no need to purchase separately)
• Motor Mount Shim for 4300kv motor (thick)
• Motor Mount Shim for 5000kv motor (thin)
• Balancing Weights (use as needed)
• Heatsink with thermal tape for the ESC

KIN Servo Relocation Plate Includes:

This kit allows the relocation of the servo's further back, 2 inches, in the fuselage allowing more room to fit a 3200mAH battery (or larger), versus the smaller 2200mAH with the stock servo location.

• Wheel Collar (2.5mm I.D.)

*as of 4/7/2026 the kit now uses a 2.5mm wheel collar to connect to the nose wheel push rod. Bending a new nose wheel push rod is no longer necessary*

Stronger Elevator Servo Add-on Includes:

The Emax ES09D is ~2X stronger and ~1.6X faster than the stock servo. For your convenience we offer this as an optional add-on. Also available directly through Wind Catcher RC ES09D Servo.
